    NOVEMBER 2025 - Night Under the Stars (Alamo Lake State Park)

    November 15, 2025

    On November 15th the 18th annual "Night Under the Stars" astronomy star party will take place in the Group Area at Alamo Lake State Park.   Solar Viewing will take place at 12:00 - 5:00pm followed by a presentation by JD Maddy.    After the presentation the public is welcome to enjoy the night sky with all of the astronomers who volunteer for this event.    The West Valley Astronomy Club has been an active member of this event for over 6 years and is sometimes accompanied by other astronomy clubs from Arizona.   JD Maddy has worked for years with the Arizona Park Department to provide the public with a chance to enjoy the night sky.

    This event is open to the public.

    Come to the Glendale Library to see the first quarter moon at its most beautiful!

    The evening starts with a presentation on the Moon then close to sunset several telescopes will be available for viewing.

    Telescopes will be provided by the West Valley Astronomy Club to view the moon & other celestial objects.

    First Quarter Moon occurs on Thursday, November 27th, sunset is 5:23 pm.
